    • Chicken pox (VZV)
    • Give analgesia, aciclovir if immunocompromised.

  1. + mouth lesions
    • Erythema multiforme or steven-Johnson syndrome if mucous membrane involvement.
    • Causes: allopurinol, HSV, other drugs.
    • Kawasaki disease. look for 5+ day fever, erythema, bilateral conjunctivities, cervical lymphadenopathy. Complications: coronary artery aneurysms.
    • Give IgG + aspirin + echo
  2. Scabies - sarcoptes scabeii. Machine wash all bed linen. give benzyl benzoate lotion + sulphur ointment for babies
  3. measles (single stranded RNA morbillivirus). Koplik spots on buccal mucosa. notifyable.
  4. Parvovirus b19 after 3-7 days. worse wtih light. may cause fetal loss, reactive arthritis. monitor in pregnancy.
    • Napkin dermatitis. Can be a) contact, b) seborrhoeic, c) candidiasis.
    • manage with daiper changes, barrier cream, steoid if candidiasis.
  5. tinea capitis by dermatophytes. give griseofulvin.
  6. Meningococcal meningitis with neisseria meniingitidis. give cefotaxime.
  7. molluscum contangiosum from innoculation of pox virus. leaves spontaneously within 6 months. or give liquid nitrogen at 2-3 weeks.
  8. miliaria (blockage of sweat ducts). don't treat.
