  1. What measure should be taken for all anomalies?
    • Record in the log book.
    • Consider that the shuttle is in transit as soon as permission to load is given
    • Call the trouble shooters and inform him of the nature of the problem, even it has been fixed.
    • Respect the communication scheme.
    • Report to the passenger dispatcher the type of incident using the open channel.

    • Locate and identify the fault with the help of the touch screen and the CDP

    • Leave the mode selector in "DR"

    • Get the crew members to give location of the CP doors, the location outside the tunnel of safety places for reception of the passengers.
    • Define the evacuation strategy in relation to the shuttle and CP doors.
    • Direct the crew to their correct positions for the adopted evacuation strategy.
    • Give the driver information received by the crew
    • Broadcast the evacuation message PA + 6 enter 01 enter.
  4. When an evacuation has been confirmed what are the CDT actions?
    • Contact the FLOR or terminal group leader to make sure evacuation should begin
    • Use the driver as the situation requires and if he is available
    • Infrom the crew to start evacuation and inform them of any particulars

    • Broadcast the evacuation message PA 6 enter 18 enter
    • Follow the evacuation on the VME

    • Select PASS alarm on the central panel
    • Lift the handset
    • Type 1 followed by enter
    • Should there be more than one call at one time, touch the wagon where the alarm is showing which will bring uo the control "VCS page"
    • Touch the desired corresponding cell of the desired PAP followed by confirm
    • select PASS and lift the receiver
    • Type 1 enter
    • To end comms put the handset back down or select arrow right
    • Should the call require assistance make the call "crew member bravo for CDT, PAP wagon x
    • Receive a report form the crew member
    • If the problem needs intervention on arrival report it to the driver
    • When the problem is resolved restart VME.
  6. Fire in tunnel light illuminates?
    • Confirm the Fire in tunnel button
    • Contact the driver for additional information
    • Close the HVAC dampers of the loco manually
    • Inform the crew
    • As soon as the loco leaves the tunnel, restart the HAVC for the whole train
    • Inform the crew members
    • Open the HVAC manually in the loco
    • Inform the trouble shooters when the push button fire in tunnel is activated in DR mode
  7. Loco fire indicator lights up?
    • Press the fire in tunnel button to close HVAC dampers if not already lit up.
    • Close the dampers in the loco manually
    • Contact the driver for additional information
    • Inform the crew and passengers, if needed (going to em siding)
    • If the loco in question is the leading loco and causes the rain to stop. Follow the instructions from the driver
    • Use application instructions
    • If it is loco 2 and before entering the tunnel, ask the driver to stop before entering.
    • If the fire on the rear loco causes the train to stop, ask the driver to turn 1500v off and use application instructions.
  8. The fire in wagon indicator illuminates,what should you do?
    • The shuttle is on the platform, Order the driver not to leave.¬†
    • Apply the reflex actions corresponding.
    • If the driver has left the platform but has yet to enter the tunnel. Order the driver to stop the train before entering the tunnel, use application instructions.
    • If no danger is identified then if needed get a trouble shooter to meet you on arrival.
    • If danger is identified then declare wagon fire alarm to the driver, but only when the fire is not under control or confined.
    • The reflex actions are:
    • Identify the wagon concerned by using the VME.
    • Press the push button to locater the wagon via the touch screen.
    • Instruct the crew member concerned by "ES this CDT. FDP check wagon x" The crew member applies their application instructions.
    • Identify the details of the alarm using the touch screen
    • Receive the crew member report
  9. If after a crew member checks on an FDE and it is level 1 what are your actions?
    • Instruct the crew member to reset the FDE via the FDP.
    • Check the extinguishing of the fire alarm indicator
    • Reset the VME
    • Record on the service sheet
  10. If after a crew member checks on an FDE and it is level 2 what are your actions?
    • Instruct the crew member to start a longitudinal evacuation.
    • Ensure the HVAC has stopped on the wagon and the adjacent wagons.
    • If the crew on the incident deck is not complete, instruct another crew member to got to the wagon concerned and to carry out the duties of the missing crew member.
    • Follow the progress of the operations via the VME
    • Check using the touch screen that the evacuation messages are being shown on the VDP
    • Record on the FDE report sheet using the application instructions
    • Confirm that the crew member may use the extinguishing systems if necessary.
    • Request the intervention of trouble shooters on arrival.
    • Reset the FDE from the circuit breakers if there is no visible sign of a fire incident.
  11. If after a crew member checks on an FDE and it is level 3 what are your actions?
    • Follow the progress of operations on the VME.
    • When evacuation is confirmed as complete, command the crew to extinguish the fire using the FDP, only if it has not already activated.
    • If the fire persists command the crew member concerned to extinguish by use of local control.
  12. If the fire alarm occurs whilst on the platform, what should you do?
    • Order the crew sot stop the sequence in progress.
    • Sop the HVAC by pushing the fire in tunnel button.
    • Instruct the crew members to isolate the vehicle concerned by slowing the fire barriers at each end of the wagon, if this can not be done then the nearest possible that will operate.
    • Carry out a longitudinal evacuation.
    • Use the extinguishing systems if necessary.
    • Report to the driver
    • Report to the TCC for the assistance of EM services
    • Report to the crew members.
    • Reset after 10 sec the fire in tunnel button, systematical turn the HVAC back all for all wagons except the wagon concerned and the ones either side.
    • If the fire requires a lateral evacuation make sure the doors situated on the continuous platform side are opened and advise the crew.
    • Once the evacuate is over inform the driver and the TCC.
    • Follow the instructions received.
    • If needed advise the driver to request an EM isolation if fire is detected outside the train.
  13. After a halon release the crew member informs the CDT that a member of public has come into contact with it. What do you do?
    • Move the passenger to an adjacent wagon where the HVAC is working.
    • Report to the TCC.
    • Once it is confirmed EM services are outside authorise the opening of an EM door.
  14. The shuttle is loading with message "Pre-alarm" displayed on the touch screen, what do you do?
    • Identify the wagon which causes the alarm.
    • Ensure that before changing to CCM that the detector in alarm will not cause an alarm superior to one, if so get a member of crew to reset the FDE via circuit breaker panel.
  15. When the message prot level low displays what should the CDT do?
    • Instruct the crew member concerned to: put the HVAC on purge and then switch to air con.
    • Tell them to remain in the wagon if this does not fix the problem.
    • If as consequence of being in CCM for longer than 10 mins inform the driver of your intended actions and then switch to another mode to upgrade the protection and then back to CCM.
  16. What are the measure to be taken should there be a problem with the HVAC and wagons are getting hot?
    • If the fault is technical and does not prevent loading advise the TCC before arrival of the number of hot wagons and load according to:
    • Light traffic - no vehicles in hot wagons
    • Normal traffic - 3 vehicles per hot wagon
    • Heavy traffic - complete loading
    • In the case of a heat wave have two double deck wagons where the HVAC works left empty to accommodate the passengers.
    • Inform the crew of the decision taken and give them the wagon number in question.
    • On departure broadcast the message that the HVAC has failed using the passenger announcement booklet.
    • Ensure with the driver leader that the bottles of water are made available on the loader
    • Annotate on the service sheet
  17. The propping cannopy light indicator lights up on the CDP above 5km/h, what do you do?
    • Don't bring the train to a halt if the speed is above 5kmh.
    • Press the propping button
    • Locate there fault using the touch screen
    • Use application instructions

    • Increase the vigilance of alarms on the CDP
    • Inform the crew members about the problem and ask them to increase vigilance

    • If it is accompanied by an alarm which may cause the train to stop, then inform the driver and follow his instructions
    • Once stopped use the passenger announcement booklet and use the application instructions.
