- Blocks drugs that act on the chemoreceptor trigger zone
- Mild alpha adrenergic blocking properties
- Direct vasodilation may cause hypotension
- Acts at the subcortical level to produce sedation and reduce anxiety and minor activities without inducing sleep

Adult: 2.5-10mg IV
