  1. Detonation
    When fuel-air mixture explodes instead of burning smoothly.
  2. Pre-ignition
    When fuel/air mixture in the cylinder ignites too soon.
  3. 100LL fuel is what color?
    Blue
  4. 100 fuel is what color?
    Green
  5. What do both halves of the master switch control?
    • LEFT: (ALT) controls the alternator
    • RIGHT: (BAT) controls the electrical power

    Turn off the ALT side if the alternator fails and produces too little or too much voltage. If the alternator stops working, the ammeter on the lower left side of the panel will show a discharge, and a low voltage warning light will illuminate.
  6. Difference between a sideslip and a forward slip?
    • Sideslip is relatively level wings.
    • Forwardslip dip one wing. See page 5-25
