  1. Adrenaline Adult

               • Asthma (IM) A0601
    Unconscious PT (W/ Poor or no Ventilation - BUT still has CO)

    Ventilate 5-8 vent/min

    • Inadequate Response
    • Adrenaline 300mcg @ 20/60 as required (MAX DOSE 900 mcg IM)

    • Pres: 1mg in 1mL glass ampoule (1:1,000)
    •         1mg in 10mL glass ampoule (1:10,000)
  2. Adrenaline Adult
      • Arrest (IV)
    Adrenaline 1mg every 3/60 if no output



    Pres: 1mg in 1mL glass ampoule (1:1,000)        1mg in 10mL glass ampoule (1:10,000)
  3. Adrenaline Adult

    • Anaphylaxis (IM) - A704
    • Moderate
    • (- Borderline - Inadequate Perfusion
    •  - Mild to Moderate Distress
    •  - Altered Conscious State)

    Monitor for atythmias

    • Adrenaline 300mcg IM(1:1000)
    • Repeat 300mcg IM 5/60 until satisfactory or side effects occur.


    Pres: 1mg in 1mL glass ampoule (1:1,000)        1mg in 10mL glass ampoule (1:10,000)
  4. Adrenaline

    Paediatric

    • Asthma (IM) P602
    Unconscious PT (W/ Poor or no Ventilation - BUT still has CO)

    • Vent(V/Min)   - INF           15-20
    •                     - SmCHLD    10-15  
    •                     - LgChild       8-12

    Inadequate Response

    • Adrenaline
    • 10 mcg/Kg IM (1:1,000)
    • -Repeat 20/60 as required Max 0mcg/Kg IM
  5. Ceftriaxone
    Adult • Meningococcal Septicaemia A0706
    (IV and IM, don’t forget the Lignocaine for IM)
    Pres: 1g sterile powder in glass vial

    Confirm Meningococcal Septicaemia

    • IV Access
    • Ceftriaxone 1g IV
    •  -Dilute with Water for injection to make 10mL
    •  -Administer slowly over 2/60

    • No IV Access
    • Ceftriaxone 1g IM
    • -Dilute with 3.5mL 1% Lingocaine HCL to make 4 mL
    • -Administer into upper lateral thigh or other large muscle mass
  6. Ceftriaxone 
    Paediatric
    • Meningococcal Septicaemia (IM, don’t forget the Lignocaine for IM) P0706
    IV Access - MICA Only

    • IM
    • Ceftriaxone 50mg/Kg IM max.1000mg
    • -Dilute 1000mg with 3.5mL Lignocaine 1%
    • -Administer into lateral upper thigh

    •         600mcg in 2mL glass vial (IN use ONLY)

    • Fentanyl 2mcg/kg IN 
    • -Repeat up to 1mcg/kg IN @ 5/60 tiltrated to obtain pain reduction to comfirtable/tolerable level or side effects
  8. Fentanyl 
    Adult 
    • Pain relief  (IV) A0501
    • Pres: 100mcg in 2mL glass ampoule
    • 600mcg in 2mL glass vial (IN use ONLY)

    (50mcg=1mL) (25mcg=0.5mL)

    • Fentanyl
    • 25-50mcg IV
    • -Repeat 25-50mcg IV@ 5/60 tiltrated to pain or side effects (max. 200mcg)
  9. Paediatric
    • Pain relief (IN) 
    (IV - MICA ONLY)
    • Pres:                                          Draw from     100mcg in 2mL glass ampoule  (<=25kg)
    •     600mcg in 2mL glass vial          (>25kg)

    • Fentanyl 2mcg/kg IN 
    • -Repeat up to 1mcg/kg IN @ 5/60 tiltrated to obtain pain reduction to comfortable/tolerable level or side effects (max dose 4mcg/kg)
  10. Midazolam
    Adult
    • Seizures (IM)
