same people/society repeatedly over a specific period of time
Cross-sequential

test individuals in cross-sectional sample more than once over specific period of time
Cross-sectional

number of individuals of different ages w/ same trait/characteristic at a single time
Case Study
- specific cohort w/ unusual condition/situation. Comprehensive case study;
- long-term follow-up, can last months-years.
- Very useful info; although cannot apply to general population and possible bias of researcher.
