  2. 123: What does 123 refer to?  
    FOM I, 20.20.3
    • an alternate airport is required if
    • 1 hour before and after, the weather is
    • 2,000' ceilings AFE or
    • 3 statute miles visibility
  3. FLAG: What are the alternate requirements when dispatched under Flag rules  
    FOM I, 20.20.3
    • FOR FLIGHTS =/< 6 hrs:
    • One hour before and one hour after, weather is the greater of:
    • 2,000' AFE and 3 statute miles  
    • -- OR --
    • > 1,500' above and 2 miles more than the lowest IAP minimums

    • FOR FLIGHTS > 6 hrs:
    • need an alternate regardless of the weather, but must meet same weather requirements for domestic flight

    • 2nd Alternate:  =/> alternate minimums

    • FUEL:
    • must be able to fly to:
    • (1) Destination
    • (2) Fly & land at most distant alternate, taking ATC routing into account
    • (3) Fly for 45 more minutes at normal cruising consumption
