Exercise 39

  1. enzymes
large protein molecules produced by body cells.
  2. catalysts
a substance that enables a chemical reaction to proceed at a usually faster rate or under different condition.
  3. hydrolases
    an enzyme that catalyzes hydrolysis.
  4. substrates
the substance acted upon by an enzyme.
  5. controls
the specimens or standars against which experimental samples are compared.

blue color indicates the absence of starch.
  9. positive sugar test
a green to orange precipitate forms indicates the presence of maltose
  10. negative sugar test
is indicated by no color change.
  11. trypsin
an enzyme produced by the pancreas, hdrolyzes proteins to small fragments (rpoteoses, peptones, and peptides).
