  8. Ciprofloxacin
    • Well tolerated; N/V, HA
    • -sun sensitivity
    • -↓ urination, yellowing, blistering rash or extreme fatigue, unusual bleeding or bruising, SOB, tendon pain
    • DDIs- NO Dairy or Al/Ca/Mg antacids/vits 2hr b4/6 after, 1A2 steroids, warfarin, antidiabetic

    • -severe diarrhea contact Dr.
    • **complete full course of tx*
    • *sympt should improve 2-3D
    • Miss dose take asap and return to normal schedule
    • Store cool dry place
    • DDIs- *separate admin of antacids, irons/vits by 2 hours*
  10. Amox w/clavulanate
    • -nausea
    • -diarrhea
    • -hypersensitivity
    • -dark urine, yellowing, unusual bleeding or bruising, SOB, blistering rash
    • DDIs- warfarin, venlafaxine, methotrexate
  11. Levothyroxine
    • 1hr b4 2 after food
    • -generally well tolerated
    • -may aggravate preexisting CVD
    • -hyper-insom, tacycard, sweating, heat intolerance
    • DDIs- Antacids iron 2hrs after
  12. Prednisone
    • -GI upset
    • - all long term use problems: ↑ risk of infection, osteoporosis, blurred vision, hyperglycemia
    • Miss dose take asap
    • Store cool dry place
    • DDIs- warfarin, phenytoin, FQs, 3A4, various CYP substrates
  13. Alendronate
    • Need Ca+vitD
    • -flu-like sympts, upper GI probs
    • -severe bone pain (jaw)- good oral hygiene
    • -hypersensitivity
    • *Miss dose, skip it and then return to norm*
    • DDIs- Al, Mg, Ca, iron 2 hrs
  14. Cyclobenzaprine
    • -dry mouth, HA drowsiness
    • -hypersensitivity
    • -yellowing
    • -cardiac dysrhythmia

    • DDIs- cns depressants, alcohol, 1A2
  15. Tramadol
    • -constipation, GI distress, sedation, HA, edema, sweating, itching
    • -suicidal ideation, dependence, tolerance, seizures
