What cells play a role in Cell Mediated Immunity?
T-Helper 1 Cells
What type of cells play a role in Antibody Mediated Immunity?
T-helper 2 cells (TH2) and B cells
- Both of the above are lymphocytes
What immune cells are involved in an anaphylactic response?
- 1) Basophils
- 2) Mast Cells
What are two physiological effects of anaphylaxis?
What is the medical treatment of anaphylaxis?
What immune cells are involved in an inflammatory response?
What are interferons?
Proteins produced by a cell infected with a virus (they help to stop replication of viruses in other cells)
What are cytokines?
Small types of proteins secreted by leukocytes (WBCs).
An example of a cytokine is an Interleukin.
This is specific to Macrophages.
This is when invaders are 'tagged' for phagocytosis via a complement protein.
Opsonization is promoting the attachment of a phagocyte to a microbe.
Which cells are involved in cell mediated immunity?
T-Helper 1 cells.
