  1. Asepsis.
    Free from infectious material or disease causing agents.
  2. Body Fluid
    Any fluid produced by the human body.
  3. Chronic
    Type of illness lasting a long time, incurable.
  4. Contaminate
    To make unclean by exposure to pathogen.
  5. Host
    Organism which another organism ( often a parasite ) lives on or in.
  6. Immunosuppression
    Any agent which interferes with the effectiveness of the immune system.
  7. Malaise
    Feeling of discomfort or weakness, often difficult to diagnose.
  8. Microbe
    Tiny organism which cannot be seen without a microscope.
  9. Pathogenic
    Ability to cause disease.
  10. Tuberculosis
    Infectious disease which affects the lungs and is characterized by abscesses, fibrosis, and calicification of lung tissue.
  11. Purulent
    Consists of, containing, or discharging pus.
  12. Staphylococcal infection / staph
    Bacterial infection cause by germs found on skin.  Infection caused by pathogenic species of staphylococci.
  13. Bacteria.
    Minute one-celled organisms with atypical nucleus, classified by shape.
  14. Virus
    Smallest microorganism known to cause disease to man.  Has RNA or DNA, but not both, uses host's RNA or DNA.
  15. Fungi
    Includes yeast ( single celled ) or molds ( multi-cellular colonies ).  Reproduce by budding or spores.
