when atoms link together in new ways. The changes causes new compounds to form.
Chemical Changes are often referred as to chemical reactions.
The original substances are called reactants.
The new substances produced by the chemical reactions are called the products.
A common example of a chemical change is rust.
Iron oxide is commonly known as rust.
Why are chemical changes more difficult to reverse than physical changes?
- Chemical changes are difficult to reverse. For example it is difficult to unburn toast or unspoil milk.
- Physical changes can be easily reversed such as putting pieces of torn paper back together.
