How to eliminate vectors to get the magnitude of the Force?
- Take the squared product of the x component and the y squared product, sum them, then take the square root of the number.
- For example:
- to find the magnitude of C given
- C = (A)x + (B)y
- C= √(A2) +(B2)
The magnitude of one vector time the magnitude of the other vector times the cosine of the angle between the two vectors.
Work is positive
- when Force and component are going in the same direction'
- speed increases
Work is negative
- when the force and the component in the direction of motion is opposite
- speed decreases
Work is zero
When Force and the component of motion are at a 90 degree angle
