Fraction:
a number that has two parts: part and whole

Numerator:
represents the part of the whole

Denominator:
represents the whole or sum of the parts

Factors:
numbers that you can multiply together to get another number

Method:
increase the value of a number

Multiplication:
increase the value of a number

Multiplication Method For Fractions:
 1. look at the numbers in the fraction
 2. find numbers that divide both the numerator and the denominator evenly
3.make sure you choose the biggest multiple so that you do not have to repeat steps
 4. make sure it is in the simplest form (smallest factors)

Division:
to separate into parts, groups or sections

Division Method for Fractions:
 1. look at the numbers of the numerator and denominator
 2. choose a number that divides into the denominator and the numerator
 3. divide the chosen number by the denominator and the numerator
 4. solve in simplest form

Addition:
the process or skill of calculating total of two or more numbers or amounts

Addition Method For Fractions (like denominators):
 1. line up the fraction vertically
 2. add the numerators
 3. place the answer over the common or like denominator
 4. simplify if you can

Subtraction:
the process or skill of taking one number or amount away from another

Subtraction Method For Fractions (like denominators):
 1. line up the fractions horizontally
 2. subtract the numerator only
 3. simplify fraction if necessary
