What is the function of the lateral and medial meniscus in the knee?
Cushion between articular surfaces: the condyles of the femur and the condyles of the tibia.
What is the function of the anterior cruciate ligament in the knee?
Prevents hyperextension of the knee joint and also prevents the tibia from sliding forward on the femur.
What is the function of the posterior cruciate ligament in the knee?
Prevents hyperflexion of the knee joint and prevents the tibia from sliding backward on the femur.

Prevents hyperadduction of the leg at the knee.

Prevents hyperabduction of the leg at the knee.
