What does the circulatory system consist of?
The heart, blood, arteries, veins and capillaries.
Definition of the heart?
A muscular pump that keeps the blood moving around the body.
What is in the blood?
Platelets, plasma, red blood cells and white blood cells.
What do the arteries do?
Carry blood away from the heart.
What do the veins do?
Carry blood towards the heart.
What are capillaries?
Tiny blood vessels that are close to the body’s cells where exchanges can happen.
