The storage and retrieval of information.
The (2) parts of Sensory Memory are:
Very short; stays in the mind maybe 1-2 seconds.
Processing the information into the system then, moving on.
Holds 5-9 items and can last up to 30 seconds.
Short term memory
The relatively permanent and limitless storehouse of the memory system. Similar to the hard drive of a computer.
Long term memory
The loss of memory due to alcohol disease, chemical disease, radiation, lack of oxygen and demintia.
A clear memory of a significant moment or event in your life.
-Visual sensory information
-Deals with our sight
-Last no more than a tenth of a second
-Auditory sensory information
-Deals with our auditory stimuli
-Sounds and words can be recalled within 3 to 4 seconds
