  1. What are some examples of beta adrenergic blockers?
    Atenolol, Propranolol, and Metoprolol.
  2. What are beta adrenergic blockers used for?
    Anti-arrhythmic, anti-anginal, anti-hypertensive, performance anxiety, alcohol withdrawal, migraine headaches.
  3. What is an example of a sympathomimetic?
    Epinephrine.
  4. What are sympathomimetics used for?
    Cardiac stimulant, hemostatic, vasoconstrictor in conjunction with local anaesthetics, anti-anaphylaxis, bronchodilator (emergency).
  5. What are some examples of NSAIDS?
    Aspirin (ASA), Acetominaphin, Ibuprofen, Naproxen.
  6. What are NSAIDS used for?
    Analgesic, anti-inflammatory, platelet inhibitor (ASA).
  7. What are some examples of anticoagulants?
    Warfarin, Heparin.
  8. What are anticoagulants used for?
    Pulmonary embolis, deep vein thrombosis, treatment/prevention of recurrent MI, prevention of cerebrovascular accident in individual experiencing TIAs, after angioplasty/vascular surgery, after major surgery with prolonged immobilization, severe arrhythmias, prophylactic treatment of rheumatic fever/rheumatic heart disease, prosthetic/damaged heart valves (Heparin is used in acute situations - and can be used for pregnant women with damaged heart valves, dialysis and maintenance of in-dwelling lines).
  9. What are some examples of antilipidemics?
    Atorvastatin, simvastatin.
  10. What are antilipidemics used for?
    Lower blood/cholesterol levels.
  11. What are some examples of ace inhibitors?
    Enalapril, Ramipril.
  12. What are ace inhibitors used for?
    Antihypertensive, preserve kidney function in diabetic.
  13. What are some examples of Angiotensin II receptor blockers?
    Losartan.

    Antihypertensive.

    Nifedipine, Amlodipine.
