a. Lions are inbreeding and disease transmission is increased due to habitat destruction and reduction.
b. Lions get infected with tuberculosis and canine distemper by domestic dogs. Since humans and their dogs are encroaching on lion habitat, this is an increasing risk and is often fatal.
c. Lions may feed on livestock because of encroachment of humans and domesticated animals into their habitat. This is particularly true when their prey migrate. To reduce livestock loss from lions, farmers put out carcasses that are poisoned, killing the lions that feed on them.
