Describe the differences between spermatogenesis and oogenesis:
- Spermatogenesis: happens in the males testes, they produce spermatozoa, it is continuous from puberty to death.
- Oogenesis: takes place in females' ovaries, it has ovum which is spherical, not motile and is much larger with more food reserves and cytoplasm, oogenesis occurs in the fetus.
Identify the primary germ layers and their end tissues:
Describe Endoderm layer.
the inner germ layer forms the linings of various tracts.
Describe ectoderm layer
The outer germ layer, which forms many of the structures around the periphery of the body.
Describe Mesoderm layer
The middle germ layer that forms most of the organs other structures between those formed by the endoderm and ectoderm.
Describe early prophase I
The duplicated chromosomes become visible.
