  8. - Simple or radial often done with a tympanoplasty& ossiculoplasty
    - Complications: cranial nerve damage to 6 and 7, meningitis, brain absceses, chronic purulent otitis media, wound infections and vertigo
  9. Hearing post op
    • If stapes removed or dislodged = heairng lost
    • Stapes or cochlea not removed or disturbed= hearing is regained
    • Hearing aid may be required
    • Normal to hear popping and crackling sound in ear for 3-5 weeks
