  1. Peripheral Nerve Lesion
    lost: all sensory modalities distal to lesion, includes motor defecits
  2. Spinal Nerve Lesion
    lost: asll sensory modalities throughout dermatome, motor defecits also
  3. Posterior Root Lesion
    • lost: all sensory modalities in dermatome
    • no motor defecits
  4. Brown-Sequard Hemisection
    • loss of: descriminitave touch sensation & proprioception
    • -T4 and below, right side (I/L)
    • loss of: pain & temperature sensation
    • -begining 1-2 segments below lesion, left side (C/L)

    • loss of: descriminative touch & proprioception from left side of body below the neck
    • loss of: pain and temperature sensation from left side of face
    • paramedian branch of basilar artery
  11. Vascular Syndrome of the Pons
    • loss of: pain and temperature sensations from left side of body below the neck
    • loss of: pain and temperature sensations from right side of face
    • short & long circumferential branches of basilar artery
  12. Vascular Syndromes of the Midbrain
    • loss of: somatosensation from left side of body and face
    • quadregeminal artery (QA)
  13. Hemispheric Lesions
    • loss of: all somatosensation
    • depends on which vessel is affected
