Most common 1° malignant tumor of the liver in Cadults. ↑ incidence is associated with hepatitis hB and C, Wilson’s disease, hemochromatosis, dα1-antitrypsin deﬁciency, alcoholic cirrhosis, and carcinogens (e.g., aﬂatoxin in peanuts). tFindings: jaundice, tender hepatomegaly, ascites, polycythemia, and hypoglycemia.
Commonly spread by hematogenous dissemination.↑α-fetoprotein. May lead to Budd-Chiari syndrome.
