Effective in reversal and management of narcotic and synthetic narcotic overdoses.
Mechanism of Action
Reverse effects of narcotics. Compete and displace narcotic molecules from opiate receptors.
Onset of Action
- Onset: <2 min (IV) 2-10 min (IM/ET)
- Peak: <2min (IV) 2-10 min (IM/ET)
- Duration: 20-120 min
- Half-Life: 60-90 min
1.) Narcotic (i.e. morphine, dilaudid, fentanyl, demerol, paregoric, methadone, heroin, percodan, and tylox overdose.)
2.)Synthetic analgesic overdose including: Nabain, Stadol, Talwin, Darvon, and alcoholic coma.
History of hypersensitivity to drug
Withdrawal effects, short acting (augmenting 5 minutes), not used as a "Coma Cocktail"
under 5 y/o give .1mg/kg. Older than 5 y/o give 2.0 mg.
Repeat as necessary
Routes of Administration
Prefilled syringes, vials and bristo-jets
