  1. Indications of Sartans?
    Hypertension and HF if cant tolerate ACEI's
  2. Precautions of sartans?
    • Peripheral vascular disease
    • Volume/sodium delpetion
    • Renal impairment - may worsen
  3. Adverse effects of sartans?
    Dizziness, headache, hyperkalemia

    Rare: dyspepsia, cough angioedema
  4. Counselling of sartans?
    You may feel dizzy when standing up, get up slowly

    Avoid potassime supplements
  5. Dose of candesartan?
    HTN?
    HF?
    • HTN - 8mg daily, increase up to 16mg
    • HF- start at 4mg
  6. Dose of irbersartan?

    if older than 75?
    150mg once daily increasing to 300mg

    if older than 75, start at 75mg
  7. Dose of telmisartan?
    20-40mg once daily, increasse upto 80mg
  8. Dose of valsartan?
    HTN?
    HF?
    • HTN-80mg daily
    • HF- 40mg twice daily
