Card Set Information
Causes a significant increase in the myocardial contractile force and increases ventricular automaticity
hyperkalemia (dangerously high potassium level), hypocalcemia (dangerously low calcium level), calcium channel blocker toxicity
Calcium chloride may precipitate digitalis toxicity in patients who take digitalis. May cause precipitate to form when used in conjunction with Sodium Bicarbonate.
: dysrhythmia (including asystole), hypotension, N/V, coronary or cerebral artery spasms
Dosage and Administration
Standard dose is 250mg-500mg IV or 2-4mg/kg of 10% solution; repeat every 10 minutes as directed by medical control
Pediatric dose is 20mg/kg
