    2: completly pink, HR >100, cough or sneeze, active motion and regular RR or strong cry

    1: pink body extremeties blue, HR <100, grimace, some flextion, slow RR irregular or weak cry

    0: blue all over, no pulse, no response, limp, no cry
  4. Action based on APGAR score
    0-3 RESUSCITATE

    4-6 SUPPORT (stimulate, warm and gie O2)

    term: 30

    preterm: 20

    normal amounts of sugar determine good brain function
  13. lecithin/sphingomyelin (L/S) ratio
    2:1 or higher

    this helps to determine hyaline membran disease or IRDS
  14. Normal ABG values for newborn
    pH - 7.30

    PaCO2 - < 50

    PaO2 > 60
