  1. Activated Charcoal
    a powder, usually premixed with water, that will absorb some poisions and help prevent them from being absorbed by the body.
  2. Contraindicatons
    specific signs or cicumstances under which it is not approriate and may be harmful to administer a drug to a patient.
  3. Epinephrine
    A drug that helps to constrict blood vessels and relax passages of the airway. It may used to counter a severe allergic reation.
  4. Indications
    Specific signs or circimstances under whic it is appropriate to administer a drug to a patient.
  5. Inhaler
    A spray device with a mouthpiece that contains an aerosol form of a medication that a patient can spray into his/her airway.
  6. Nitroglcerin
    A drug to helps dialte the coronary vessels that supply the heart muscle with blood.
  7. Oral Glucose
    A form of glucose ( a kinf of sugar) given to treat and awake patient (who is able to swallow) with an altred mental status and a history of diabetes.
  8. Oxygen
    A gas commomly founfin the atomosphere. Pure oxygen is used as a drug to treat any patient whos medical or traumatic condition that may cause him to be hypoxic, or low in oxygen.
  9. Pharmacology
    the study of drugs, their sources, characteristics, and effects.
  10. Side Effects
    any action of a drug other than the desired effect.
