Made from Maguey plant found in Tequila Mexico and the Mescal plant (also known as the Agaue Tequilana Weber plant in Mexico, Century plant in the US)
When cooked a type of sap/honey is produced, then fermented.
Teqila must come from the area known as Tequila State of Jalisco, Mexico.
- Bottled in one of five categories:
- Blanco (white) or Plata (silver) un-aged or aged less than 2 months in oak barrels
Oro (gold) un-aged Blanco blended with Rested or Aged tequilas with caramel & sugar added to appear aged
Reposado (rested) aged a minimum of 2 moths but less than 1 year in oak barrels
Anejo (aged or vintage) aged a minimum of 1 year but less than 3 years in oak barrels
Extra Anejo (extra aged or ultra aged) aged minimum of 3 years in oak barrels. Established in March/06.
