  1. MGB. T light
    • Test warning caution advisory panel to check MBG. P light.
    • Light OFF? Reduce power. Land ASAPossible.
    • Light ON? Land and check MBG oil. If level is normal the fly to nearest base.
  2. F. FILT light
    • Reduce power.
    • Light OFF? Continue flight at reduced power.
    • Light ON? Land ASAPossible.
    • (same EP for aftermarket filter & light)
  3. CHIP TGB light
    • Continue flight.
    • Avoid prolonged hovering.
  4. CHIP MGB light
    • Reduce Power.
    • Monitor MGB. P and MBG. T lights.
    • If either turns on: follow that EP.
  5. FUEL P. light
    • Check Fuel Pressure Guage.
    • Normal?: Only one pump is bad. Continue flight.
    • Zero Pressure?: Both pumps are bad. Flight may continue at <5,000' msl.
  6. HYD light in flight
    • Smoothly: Reduce power to 40-60 kts.
    • Collective HYD switch- OFF.
    • Over clear & flat area, flat final approach, nose into the wind. NO HOVER/SLOW run-on landing ~10 kts.
    • Collective- LOCK.
    • Shut down.
  7. GEN light
    • Test DC voltage.
    • Check position of GEN push-button.
    • GEN RESET.
    • Unsuccessful?: Shed non-essentials, continue flight accordingly, monitor voltage (>22 volts)
    • *Max flight on Battery alone: 50 min day, 20 min night.
    • Land ASAPractical. (Note altitude for boost pumps).
  8. Max torque- % & hp.
    > 40 kts.
    < 40 kts.

    • If open or unable to check, land ASAPossible OR keep speed > 120 kts.
    • Maintain low sink rate. Land skids level.

    • Avoid large attitude changes.
    • Land in <18 min (ASAPossible)
    • < 15.8 gal remain, 18 min at level flight & MCP
  14. BAT Light
    • Check push-button ON.
    • Monitor voltage.
    • Continue flight accordingly.
  15. HORN light
    Check the HORN push-button.
  16. BAT.T light
    • Isolate Battery. (push-button OFF)
    • Land ASAPossible.
  17. ENG. P light
    • Reduce power.
    • Check Engine Oil Pressure guage.
    • Oil Pressure Low or Zero?: Check Torque guage.
    • Torque very low?: Shut down engine.
    • Torque reading correct?: Land immediately.
    • Oil Pressure & Torque ok?: Land ASAPossible.
  18. FIRE light in flight
    • Enter auto.
    • Shut Fuel Valve OFF.
    • Switch off Boost Pumps & Generator .
    • Burning smell? Master Batt off.
  19. Torquemeter failure
    • Limit Ng to 98% or less (or less than 3.5% delta Ng & top of the green arc).
    • Refer to RFM chart 3.2 pg 2 for specific Ng limits for alts & temps.
  20. Governor Failure: Low Side
    • Symptoms: same as engine failure but after a few seconds, NG stabilizes at <70%.
    • Establish auto at 65 kts.
    • Advance fuel control (results in Ng & T4 rise)
    • Maintain 70% Ng.
    • Increase fuel flow to ~380 rpm Nr.
    • Trim collective & fuel flow to hold level flight at this rotor speed.
  21. Governor Failure: Surging
    • Symptoms: hunting of the rpm, torque, & T4 with jerks in the yaw axis.
    • Change collective setting.
    • If surging persists & fuel pressure and engine oil pressure are normal, reduce fuel flow slightly (to leave governed range).
    • If surging still persists: Land ASAPossible and shut down.
  22. NR Indicator Failure
    • Keep torque >10%.
    • NF will indicate NR.
    • Land ASAPossible.
  23. Free Turbine (NF or NTL) indicator failure
    • Check that NR is still stable with slow torque changes.
    • Continue flight (!?).
  24. Governor Failure: High Side
    • Symptoms: NG, T4, NR increase.
    • Do NOT reduce collective.
    • Reduce fuel flow until NR in green.
    • Continue flight without Governor.
    • (a decrease in collective = increase in rotor RPM = must increase fuel control, etc.)
    • Minimize power changes on approach.
  25. Delta NG Indicator Failure
    • Watch Torque.
    • Limit T4 to:
    • 730 degrees if <15 degrees C OAT.
    • 750 degrees if >15 degrees C OAT.
  26. HYD Light in IGE hover
    • Land normally.
    • Collective LOCK.
    • Shut down.

    • Reduce power.

  46. What are indications of a Tail Rotor failure & what type of landing is always required?
    • Nose left yaw (rotational speed depends on power applied)
    • A reduction in FFCL followed by an autorotative landing.

    • Temp reduced? Land ASAPractical.
    • Temp still high? Land ASAPossible & check cooler fan operation.
  48. Oil pressure low EP?
    • Check CWP for ENG P.
    • If ENG P is on or ENG P light is not working, land IMMEDIATELY. Autorotate & shut down engine if time permits.
    • If ENG P light does not illuminate, monitor it & land ASAPractical.
