What is Iron Deficiency?
Body is low on iron caused by lack of iron in the diet
What is Folate Deficiency Anemia?
Inability to synthesize folate, which stops hematopoiesis
What is Vitamin B12 Deficiency Anemia?
AKA pernicious, stops the maturation of RBC's in bone marrow
What is Sickle Cell Anemia?
- C shaped RBC's that are unable to transport oxygen
What is Anemia of Chronic Disease?
Is figured out to be the diagnosis after other forms of anemia are tested out
What is Polycythemia?
Increased number of RBC's, WBC's and platelets
- Either a malfunction in the Bone Marrow
- Low oxygen levels
What is Hemophilia?
Genetic deficiency in clotting factors
What is Leukemias?
A group of disorders affecting the hematopoietic or lymphoid system
