    Personification--wind can't actually whisper, only people whisper. The word whisper is used to describe how the wind was blowing.

    Onamatopoeia--these are words that describe sounds.

    Metaphore--this paints a picture in your mind that the girl's hair was very smooth (silky).
  12. The teacher's directions were as clear as mud.
    Simile--uses "like" or "as" to compare two things (directions and mud)-- both are not clear.
