What is Culture?
The ways of living built up by a group and passed on from one generation to another.
What is Paleolithic?
Paleolithic from the greek work for old stone. Describes a period of time in which the earliest use of stone tools some 1 million years ago to about 10,000 B.C.E.
What is Neolithic?
From the greek "new stone". Describes a period of time in which stone tool technology seen advances that brought greater precision.
What is Mesopotamia?
The area that encompasses the plains along the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers.
What is Civilization?
The attributes such as urbanism; technological, industial, and social change and new methods of symbolic communications make up human civilization.
Neolithic and Aricultural revolutions produced?
The Neolithic and Agricultural revolutions produced a shift from hunter/gathers cultures to increasingly ubanized herding agricultural cultures.
Birth place of Civilization?
Mesopotamia between the Tigris and Eupharties Rivers.
Describe early slavery.
- Chattel slaves were perminate non-mesopotaimian slaves. Had to wear hair a certian way and were often tatooed or branded. They were used domestically.
- Debted slaves were slaves only to pay off a debt or interest on a loan. They could not be sold.
