  1. Neutropenia
    At risk of bacterial infections as well as fungal infections & opportunistic molds (Aspergillus)

    At risk of extracellular organisms - particularly encapsulated bacteria (S. pneumoniae; H. influenzae; N. meningitidis)
  4. Conditions causing neutropenia
    Cytotoxic & other drugs; acute leukemia; congenital defects (chronic granulomatous disease; etc)
  5. Conditions causing deficiency in cell-mediated immunity
    HIV; glucocorticoids; immunosuppression (as with solid organ transplantation); lymphomas (Hodgkin's especially)
  6. Conditions causing deficiency in humoral immunity
    Splenectomy; multiple myeloma; common variable immunodeficiency (CVID); X-linked agammaglobulinemia
